It is the residents’ own responsibility to conclude a contract for the internet supply with an appropriate supplier/provider.
In the common area and the working space (house 2 at the passage to house 5) a free hotspot with "eduroam" access is available for all residents via "BayernWLAN".
When choosing your internet contract, please make sure that your future provider supports the DSL telephone network. (Important: Internet via coaxial cable such as one of the options offered by Vodafone is not possible)
After conclusion of the contract, an on-site appointment with you and a technician from your contract partner is necessary. Experience has shown that you will be informed of this by the provider in a timely manner.
At the same time, when meeting with the technician at the dorm, it is necessary for an employee from the administration to be present in order to allow access to the technical rooms.
Your Internet provider will offer you a "morning window” or an “afternoon window" for the meeting. Please always use the "morning window" from Monday to Friday to ensure the presence of dorm staff. (If necessary, please arrange a change of appointment with the provider).
To connect the router, please use the following box in your room:
House 1 single room/apartment; network socket #1
double room/shared apartment; network socket in the common room/kitschen
House 2/3 network socket with the inscription „T“
House 4 single room; network socket #1
double room; network socket #4 in the common room/kitschen
House 5/6 TAE-telephone socket
For the network sockets, please use the corresponding RJ45 cable, which is supplied with the routers as standard for new contracts.
